Who we are
The Office for Juvenile Care in the area of Amsterdam (Bureau Jeugdzorg) is the place to be when you have a question or problem concerning growing up and bringing up. Our staff consists of 700 people that can give information, advice and help to children, adolescents, parents/caretakers, professionals and other people involved.
On this website we will tell you who can turn to us, how we may help you, and how to get in touch with us. Naturally, you can also call us for more information.
What we do
Our services are there to assist you and the people that surround you, while supporting whatever you can do by yourself. Therefore, we supply you with information, advise you, and offer you support and guidance. Our services are run by volunteers and are free of charge. At 'Ons aanbod' ('What we offer') you can find where to turn to with your question or problem.
If we reach the conclusion together that you need a different or specialized type of care, we will organize it for you.
Officers of custody offer help and guidance when children or adolescents are not taken care of or when their safety cannot be guaranteed. The rehabilitation services for juvenile offenders helps prevent recurrence of a one-time criminal act. Young people with a criminal career are being offered the possibility to rejoin society. In both cases our services are called upon by ruling of the legal system.
How to find us?
We believe in working close to the people who need us, which is why we work from 10 locations in the Amsterdam area. You can also find us at primary schools and all highschools.
In addition to this, we run a number of walk-in Service Locations where anyone can ask questions or request information. Our aim is to be as accessible as we can to anyone who needs us.
Who can turn to us?
The Office for Juvenile Care exists for anyone who has a problem or question concerning a child or adolescent. We are there for you, whether you are a child, adolescent, father, mother or otherwise involved.
